Getting to New Roads

One of New Roads’ core commitments is Environmental Stewardship, as noted in our Statement of Philosophy: we believe in “behaving responsibly and honorably as individuals and as an institution, and serving the larger ecological and social community.” We believe that developing a respect for humanity and ecology of the earth to be essential in the education of our students and the practices of our village. To that end, New Roads is committed to making efforts to reduce our impact on the environment and contribute to a more sustainable future.

With this aim in mind, we have thought very carefully about transportation and its role in climate change as we have made decisions about options we will encourage. Our location in Santa Monica is easily accessible from the greater Los Angeles area through several transportation options, including Santa Monica’s Big Blue Bus, L.A. County’s Metro, and Metro’s Expo Line.
