  • Facilities Staff

    The Facilities Staff position is responsible for the renovation and repair, care of, and maintenance of the schools buildings and grounds. The position works within the Facilities Department and interacts with all school departments, staff, and visitors on campus.  The Facilities Staff position performs general maintenance and repairs, handles set-up and break-down for classrooms, offices, meetings and events and ensures that the campus is maintained, clean and free of trash and debris.

  • Facilities Staff/Electrician

    New Roads is currently seeking a Facilities Staff Member. Under the supervision of the Director of Facilities, this position is responsible for the renovation and repair, care of, and maintenance of the schools buildings and grounds. The position will perform general maintenance and repairs, including plumbing, electrical, basic carpentry, concrete ,asphalt, locksmithing, heating and cooling and other building systems. This position will ensure that the Campus is maintained, clean and free of trash and debris; and participates in painting and construction projects. Handles set-up and break down for classrooms, offices, meetings and events.

  • Middle School English Teacher

    In alignment with the school's Mission, Statement of Philosophy, and Commitments, the New Roads Middle School English Program provides tools to participate intellectually, socially, politically, and morally, “to read well and write clearly,” “to reason and to question thoughtfully, soundly, critically, and ethically,” “to invite and seek to understand contradictory and complementary perspectives,” and “to listen and and understand empathically.” 
    Reporting to the Middle School Director, the Middle School English Teacher is responsible for teaching students in grades 6-8.
  • Upper School Counselor - Maternity Leave Position

    The Upper School Counselor is a full-time temporary position, covering maternity leave. The Upper School Counselor reports directly to the Upper School Division Director and the Director of Student Wellness and Human Development. The Counselor works in collaboration with the Upper School administration and staff to support students in grades 9-12. The Counselor, who works directly with the Upper School staff, students, parents, and teachers, is the contact to outside resources for the emotional health and well-being of the students and is expected to model ethical and professional practices. 
     
    The Counselor plays a significant role in providing culturally responsive support for the social and emotional needs and challenges of the students, parents, and, at times, faculty and is often called on to meet with individual students and parents as well as with groups of students in order to provide social/emotional support, assess needs, advise on challenges, and deliver referrals for professional therapeutic support.

    Duties and Responsibilities Include:
    • Establish and maintain open, professional, and respectful communications with students, parents, teachers, and the athletics department.
    • Coaches will assist all individuals in their sport to grow socially and emotionally through positive feedback and timely and sensitive communication.  
    • Ensure that all coaches work together toward a common goal within their respected programs.
    • Coaches must keep informed and up to date on League rules.
    • Coaches will attempt to promote school spirit, team spirit, and cohesiveness.

  • Spectrum Program Coordinator

    The Spectrum Program is a hallmark program of New Roads School.  It is designed to create educational options and interventions, within a regular school environment, for students that meet the diagnostic criteria specified in the revised DSM-5 for Autism Spectrum Disorder; formally categorized as Asperger’s Syndrome or High Functioning Autism. The program targets academically capable students diagnosed with ASD and takes a fresh approach to addressing their needs by both: a) including them in neurotypical academic classes and campus activities, and b) providing concentrated, daily focus on improving our students’ social and real-world functioning skills within the specialized Spectrum Life Skills curriculum.  The program’s  main goal is to provide support to our students in developing executive functioning skills, organization, time management and self advocacy. These life skills can be translated into students’ everyday lives and beyond graduation.

    New Roads offers a PPO or HMO coverage plan through Blue Shield of California.  New Roads currently pays 100% of the monthly premium for both the HMO and PPO plans and contributes a percentage to the cost of the monthly premiums for dependent coverage.

    New Roads offers  Dental PPO coverage through Guardian Dental. New Roads currently pays 100% of the monthly premium for the Dental plan and contributes a percentage to the cost of the monthly premiums for dependent coverage.
