Upper School

The New Roads path culminates with these four years, when young people come into their own as thinkers, doers, and individuals. During their high school years, our students build a foundation for their futures by engaging in meaningful scholarship and developing a well-defined moral compass in a learning environment that brims with intellectual depth and creative vitality.
Class discussions spill out into the courtyard, humming with creative energy and community spirit. Students balance the advancement and mastery of academic skills through core courses with the exploration of curiosities through a vast program of electives and independent study. Students find support from caring mentors and college counselors as they decide what’s next. Whether our still curious young people choose to pursue the arts, humanities, science, social sciences or something else, they graduate from New Roads as individuals of courageous character — people of conscience who contribute ethically to their workplaces, families, and communities.
