Testing

Do all students, faculty, and staff need to test for COVID-19 to participate in in-person instruction and activities?

Yes. Due to the uncertainties of the COVID-19 variants, all community members participating in in-person learning and activities currently need to be tested on a weekly basis.

Regular testing is an important part of identifying infections early to prevent transmission on campus. LACDPH recommends that vaccinated and unvaccinated individuals be included in a school’s asymptomatic screening testing program. New Roads’ protocols and cadences for COVID-19 screening testing will be based on community transmission rates, vaccination percentages, and our school-wide prevention strategies. The testing cadence will be adjusted as needed and our community will be notified if there is an adjustment.

Does the school provide on-campus testing?

Yes. On-campus testing is currently scheduled weekly during the school day for all students, faculty, and staff.

Elementary School: Wednesdays 1:00PM - 3:00PM
Middle School: Fridays 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM
Upper School: Wednesdays 2:30 PM - 4:00 PM
  • Students cannot miss their 7th period to test. They must come after class.

If I miss on-campus testing and take a COVID-19 test off campus, where do I upload my results?

If you choose to test off campus, you will need to upload your student’s test in MyRoads. Parents must log into their MyRoads account where they will find a yellow bar at the top indicating “Forms to Review.” You will select the COVID-19 Test Result Upload form and submit your child’s results. A new form will be posted on your account bi-weekly in accordance with the testing schedule.

If you need test off-site, the following are links to LA City and County Testing Sites:
Individuals who need assistance finding a medical provider can call the LA County Information line 2-1-1, which is available 24/7.
