Dylan Nilsson and Isabella Carbonari Receive Scholastic Art & Writing Awards

11th graders Dylan Nilsson and Isabella Carbonari were honored for the 2022 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards. Dylan’s submissions, Magnus and Home, received regional Silver Key Awards celebrating his creative talents in photography and writing. Photography teacher Ali Prosch says, “It’s such a pleasure to watch Dylan develop his skills and talents in photography. I have no doubt his strong work ethic and willingness to take creative risks will lead him to many more wonderful achievements.”

Isabella's personal essay and memoir, Drawings on the Wall, received the prestigious regional Gold Key Award, which automatically advances her essay to the national competition taking place in New York City on March 23. English teacher Larry Friedman says, "Bella's a writer's writer...always thinking about the story, always aware of her audience, and always on a mission to find new ways to improve her craft. Bravo to Bella on such a well-deserved honor!"

Some of America’s most celebrated artists and writers like Stephen King, Andy Warhol, and Charles White have been recipients of Scholastic Art & Writing Awards. We are so proud that Dylan and Isabella are the newest honorees of these esteemed awards.
