Sanna Legan '18 Raises her Activist Voice with Powerful Artwork

"I was taught that I can create my own future, and I could not be more excited.”

Social Justice Artist and recent alumna Sanna Legan continues to grab headlines in the wake of her designation as a 2018 U.S. Presidential Scholar in the Arts.

A selection of Sanna's work was exhibited at The Kennedy Center in Washington D.C., including a life-sized model of a Miss America gown that Sanna constructed with immigration documents. "What I see in Sanna and her peers is how they question society. They feel a responsibility to question and to change the world through their art and their passion,” says Head of School Luthern Williams.

Learm more about how Sanna's art is shaping the art-as-activism landscape in the most recent version of The Argonaut.
