Be Inspired! Middle School Dance in Action Workshop
New Roads’ Statement of Philosophy affirms, “We believe that education must not be a race for the accumulation of facts, but a joint venture among students, parents, and teachers to develop habits of mind, habits of character, an ever expanding awareness of the human situation, and the tools needed for social, political and moral participation as well as personal fulfillment.”
Our middle school Dance in Action Workshop is a powerful manifestation of this commitment. As you will see in this “behind the scenes” video, students in the Workshop use movement to explore and express their views about issues like girls’ access to education (inspired by the middle school 2015 summer read, I Am Malala), body image and bullying.
This year’s Dance in Action Workshop community performance takes place on February 13 at 7:00 pm in the Moss Theater. You don’t want to miss this deeply inspiring expression of our students’ thoughts, concerns and beliefs.
