Film Industry Pros Lead Student Q&As

Our Film and Digital Media Department recently hosted two esteemed special guest speakers to give Film Production students a deeper insight into the diverse career opportunities within the field. Renowned Writer/Producer David Weddle, whose credits include iconic films like Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Battlestar Galactica, and For All Mankind, visited campus to engage in discussions with students covering the myriad facets of filmmaking and film theory this month.

Visual Effects Artist Stuart Ziff, whose work is featured in blockbuster films including Star Wars, Ghostbusters, Dragonslayer, and Star Trek, shared his extensive career journey with students. Through behind-the-scenes photos and stories, Ziff provided a firsthand account of his experiences, including his work as head of Ghost Shop on Ghostbusters, overseeing the creation of iconic monsters and creatures like Slimer and the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man.

Both visiting professionals shared valuable advice and insights on navigating a career in the dynamic world of film.
