New Roads Senior Nominated for Presidential Scholar in the Arts
Bravo to 12th grader Sanna Legan, who is a nominee for the 2018 Presidential Scholars in the Arts, one of the nation’s highest honors for high school students who exemplify academic and artistic excellence. As a winner in the highly prestigious National YoungArts Foundation awards, Sanna became eligible for nomination for this competition. Only 60 of this year's 8000 YoungArts winners were chosen to be nominated as Presidential Scholars in the Arts.
Sanna says, “This is a really amazing honor. My work focuses on the role of women in today's society, and to have won YoungArts at the National Level and now to be a candidate to be a U.S. Presidential Scholar, only stresses how important art is in this political climate."
