Luthern Williams Co-Chairs National Association of Independent Schools People of Color Conference and Introduces Ta-Nehesi Coates
Luthern Williams recently served as the Co-Chair of the National Association of Independent Schools’ 30th Annual People of Color Color Conference. As Co-Chair, Luthern was instrumental in helping to plan the conference. He was particularly honored to introducing Ta-Nehesi Coates, writer of the New York Times bestseller Between the World and Me. Luthern describes Ta-Nehesi as, “An uncompromising voice for equity and justice, and one of the most influential intellectuals of the people and of his generation.”

In the conference opening remarks, Luthern said, “Our hope is that you will leave this conference ready to raise your voices, individually, collectively and strategically, for equity and justice, now and for every generation, in our independent schools, in America and, in our global community. As Nelson Mandela reminded us, ‘It always seems impossible until it’s done.’”
