'In the Heights' Nominated for FIVE Jerry Herman Awards

If you caught New Roads' extraordinary middle and high school musical, Lin Manuel Miranda’s In the Heights, you won’t be surprised to learn it has been nominated as one of the best secondary school musical theater productions in Los Angeles. New Roads’ In the Heights has received FIVE nominations for the acclaimed Jerry Herman Awards, including:
  • Best Production
  • Best Supporting Actress – Julia Malinow (Daniela)
  • “No Small Parts” Award – Caleb McGee (Piragua Guy)
  • Best Staging and Choreography
  • Best Musical Direction
The Jerry Herman Awards celebrate achievement and excellence in high school musical theater. Our production of In the Heights was one of thirty-seven Los Angeles musicals attended by Jerry Herman Award adjudicators, who score each show in multiple creative, technical and performance categories, much like Broadway’s Tony Awards. The awards show will take place on June 5 at the Hollywood Pantages Theater.
