Three Cheers for the Class of 2023!!!

As the Class of 2023 moves from high school graduation to the collegiate phase of their educational journey, Director of College Counseling Alejandra Bonilla comments, “Colleges and universities seek out and embrace New Roads students. They recognize New Roads students as change agents, intellectuals, artists, scientists, writers, mathematicians, and dreamers - young people who use their passion and power to transform the world. Over and over again, my colleagues in university admission offices tell me what I already know: New Roads students impress not only with their academic preparedness but with their outsized courage, flexible mindset and empathy, which is in large part the result of learning and growing in our authentically diverse community.”

Here are just a few examples of the Class of 2023’s accomplishments:  
  • Over $6 million in merit scholarships awarded
  • 34% of the Class of 2023 will be attending a highly selective college, including Ivy League and Stanford
  • 22% of the Class of 2023 are first generation college students
  • 28% of New Roads seniors applying to UCLA were accepted (national rate 11%)
  • 24% of New Roads seniors applying to UC Berkeley were accepted (national rate 11%)
