8th Grader Jack Momtazee Lands Top Prize at Topanga Film Festival

8th grader Jack Momtazee premiered his short film The Fight at October’s Topanga Film Festival, which is dedicated to exploring new frontiers at the intersection of story, technology, and humanity. Jack’s film was selected as an entry to the Festival’s Young Filmmakers Showcase that spotlights short films that challenge convention and give viewers a prime opportunity to be inspired by seeing and understanding the world from a young person's point of view. The Fight is a story about a boy who loses his beloved dog to a monster, and his journey to regain the strength to fight off the monster and avenge his dog's death.
Coupling his digital media skills with his filmmaking talents, Jack used advanced techniques in Adobe After Effects to bring the film’s fight sequences and explosions to life. Jack’s talents impressed the Festival’s judges as The Fight  was selected as one of three films to open the festival, and won Best Young Filmmakers Award, which is the top prize for young filmmakers!
