10th Grader Maeve Schrode Reaches Shakespeare Competition LA Finals

10th grader Maeve Schrode was one of just six students selected to compete in the English Speaking Union’s National Shakespeare Competition’s Los Angeles Branch Finals last month. Maeve qualified for the finals after competing against young thespians from 25 other schools in an earlier match up.

Maeve performed both a Shakespearean monologue and sonnet. With the expert guidance of NRS administrator and Shakespearean scholar Elisa Schultz, Maeve represented New Roads with tremendous talent and grace, finishing in the top three and continuing New Roads’ six-year legacy of securing a place in the Los Angeles Branch Finals.
