Teacher Danny Figueroa Honored by the Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth

Kudos to upper school science teacher Danny Figueroa, who is one of ten teachers nationally honored with the Sarah D. Barder Award recently by the Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth for excellence in teaching students with advanced academic abilities. Danny has taught with the Center for Talented Youth’s summer programs for 16 years. He also co-founded the Compton Robotics Club with senior Ben Indeglia, which delivers a weekend robotics program to over 200 students in the Compton Unified School District.

As a “private school with a public purpose,” Danny is a shining example of New Roads commitment to improving educational opportunities and access for children.
