Welcome to New Roads—a first-rate progressive school that prizes the growth of the whole child from Kindergarten through twelfth grade. A New Roads education teaches students to discover their voices, cultivate autonomy and integrity, think critically, learn the joys of curiosity and lifelong learning, and hone their resilience and ability to create community. With a career in colleges and independent schools, I assure you there is no place like New Roads, and there is no school that does a better job of preparing tomorrow’s leaders, creators, and citizens.

No two New Roads educations are the same. Starting in elementary school, we invite students to explore broadly, develop their talents, and pursue their passions. In an era of earlier and earlier specialization, we are proudly a school where the same student can be a breakout scientist, a star athlete, the lead in the school play and a celebrated artist. Here, youth is a formative time of wide-ranging creativity and discovery. And over time, as students learn more about themselves, they dive deeper into those topics and areas that are particularly compelling.

We call New Roads “The Village.” Students learn and grow up in community. Those whose upbringings, ethnicities and identities differ, who learn and think in various ways, question and challenge the world from diverse perspectives. They share their experiences, and they learn in an atmosphere that fosters their understanding of others, their patience, and their ability to build community and resolve conflict—all to a high intellectual and ethical standard. Our amazing faculty and staff respond with caring, warmth and rigor to their calling to teach and mentor our students. And our Parent and Guardian Village are our partners in meeting the needs and exploring the potential of students in all grades.
