What is the New Roads Fund?
The New Roads Fund (also known as “annual giving”) is a pool of unrestricted money raised each year through charitable contributions that supports our operating budget, and fills “the gap” between tuition revenue and the actual cost of a New Roads education.
Who supports the New Roads Fund?
Our entire “Village!”
Faculty and Staff
Board of Trustees
Alumni & their families
How much should my family contribute to the New Roads Fund?
Because we are a socioeconomically diverse community, we ask you to support the New Roads Fund at a level that is meaningful and significant to your family, and call upon each member of our community to make the greatest impact possible for them.
Why is it so important that every family contribute to the New Roads Fund?
When New Roads approaches a charitable foundation or corporation to ask for a grant, their first question is “how many of your families contribute to the annual fund?” Full participation signals to them that our community is fully committed to our mission, and they are more likely to fund our programs.
Where does the money go?
The New Roads Fund does it all: building and classroom improvements, books and materials, computers and sports equipment, field trips and faculty salaries. It keeps the lights on, and keeps our students enlightened.
$25 - Uniform for a volleyball player
$100 - Cost for one student to attend the overnight trip to Yosemite for one day
$500 - One Chromebook laptop computer for a classroom
$1,000 - Two DSLR cameras for Middle School photo students
$5,000 - Specialized Professional Development for faculty
$25,000 - Underwrite travel for the HUMANS Robotics Team
Can I pledge now and pay later?
Yes, by making your pledge or investment early in the year, you can help us make our financial plans and projections as accurately as possible. The Development office is available to help you plan and manage your pledge. All pledge payments must be remitted by June 30, 2020, the last day of the New Roads fiscal year.
