New Roads Hosts Global Education Roundtable for Third Year
New Roads welcomed an international delegation of educators on their tour of the most innovative and future-focused schools of North America. This is the third year New Roads has hosted the delegation, headed by David Price OBE and his wife Claire. The guests are given insight into how New Roads’ constructivist philosophy and mission come to life on a daily basis. Guests had a chance to meet with students, faculty and administrators, observe academic, elective and workshop classes and engage in an afternoon roundtable discussion around two provocations: The Private School with a Public Purpose and Digital Health and Wellbeing. Additionally, Luthern was interviewed by David Price for an upcoming book he is writing on innovative education.
The group of educators included heads of school, principals, board chairs, policy experts, instructional technology experts and Google-certified innovators from across the globe. The Global Roundtable discussion was incredibly fruitful as all members grappled with the philosophical and practical challenges that face educational institutions worldwide.
New Roads was thrilled to receive very positive correspondence from our guests after the roundtable. David Price reflected, “The entire group was blown away by experiencing New Roads. We had people moved to tears, people who said they'd love to work there, people who said they were going to quit their current school and start a new school based upon New Roads - really life-changing experiences. For myself and Clare, it affirmed what we've felt for some time: that you have one of the best schools anywhere in the world, and you've created an open learning environment that is truly future-focused and life affirming."
