New Roads 6th grader Holland Mueller and 10th grader Mica Nafshun-Bone just performed at Carnegie Hall on February 25! They took the stage in this iconic venue with the Los Angeles Youth Orchestra in a special concert featuring youth orchestras and choirs from throughout the country. Mica and Holland are both violinists who have spent years honing their musical talents. Mica says she was “absolutely thrilled” to have this opportunity to perform at a venue that has hosted the world’s most legendary musicians for over a hundred years. Holland was equally excited and even helped raise funds for the trip by playing on Third Street Promenade! She says, “Being in New York and playing at Carnegie Hall was just amazing – everything is so much bigger than I ever imagined it could be!” Check out local media coverage in the Santa Monica Daily Press and the LA Times. Enjoy highlights from the trip in this video and the photo gallery below.
