Film by New Roads Alumni to Show at Sundance Film Festival

An indie, episodic film project created by New Roads alumni, It's Not About Jimmy Keene, has been selected for the 2019 Sundance Film Festival. Caleb Jaffe '15 is the film's Director/Writer/Editor and Lead Actor, Sofia Frohna '16 is the Music Composer, Noble Gray '12 the Cinematographer and Charlie Smith '16 the Data Manager & Engineer.
It's Not About Jimmy Keene examines deep divisions within a mixed-race family in the aftermath of a police shooting of an unarmed black teen. Congratulations to the alumni collaborative for creating this important film.
"I am so proud of our students for using art, as is the tradition at New Roads, to hold a mirror to our society and to stimulate conversations about critical issues of social justice," says Head of School Luthern Williams.
