annual giving

The facts are on the table. Just like family and friends coming together to enjoy a meal the same is true when an entire community comes together. Everything gets better. New Roads School thrives on the brilliant diversity of what each individual brings to the table. Yet there is one thing that each individual has in common that ensures the success of our students - participation in the Annual Giving Program.

Annual Giving Phon-a-thon
Thursday, December 1, 2011

Because having 100% participation from our families is so important, on December 1, 2011 members of our Board of Trustees and other volunteers will be conducting an Annual Giving Phon-a-thon, to personally reach out to every family that has not yet fulfilled its responsibility by making a pledge or donation to this year’s Annual Giving Program.

If you do not want to be contacted during the Phonathon, make sure that your meaningful contribution is received by November 30, 2011

People are often surprised that a contribution to the school’s Annual Giving Program is expected from everyone. Like other independent and private schools across the country, New Roads relies on Annual Giving funds for a percentage of the current year’s operating budget.   Your annual gift directly impacts our students’ educational experience by completing the costs not covered by tuition.

In addition to fulfilling the true cost of educating every New Roads student, 100% participation by our families demonstrates the kind of community support that greatly improves New Roads’ ability to obtain funding from foundations, corporations and other outside funding sources. All of the wonderful things that New Roads offers are only possible because of the success of our Annual Giving Program. Participate by making your annual gift today.  Affirm the connection. Strengthen our community.

Tuition alone does not cover the costs associated with keeping this special community of learners thriving, stable and able to grow and mature.  Our goals are established by the Board of Trustees in coordination with the Institutional Advancement and Development Committee (IADC).  Fundraising activities account for approximately 13% of New Roads School’s operating budget.

By filling that gap in the form of a donation, your family gets the tax benefit that comes with contributing to a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation. If you have any questions, please contact Amy Simons, Director of Development at (310) 828-5582 ext. 116 or via email.
