New Roads' Admissions Process
Note: To request an admissions packet and to be included in our mailing list, please email admissions@newroads.org. Application packets will start to go out at the end of August 2011.
1. Visit Our School
We strongly recommend that you visit New Roads during one of our Open House or Tour dates so that you can visit the facilities, meet faculty, students and parents, and learn firsthand about our programs, philosophy and curriculum. Elementary School Open Houses and tours take place on the Elementary School campus. Middle & High School Open Houses are combined and take place at the High School campus. The Middle Schools hold separate Tours on their respective campuses.
2. Submit an Application
Please download our 2012-2013 Admission forms here! For more information please call (310-828-5582) or e-mail New Roads for an application. Applications should be returned directly to the campus to which they relate. Our application deadline is January 20, 2012.
3. Schedule an Interview
Once we have received the bulk of your application materials, we will call to schedule an interview. Elementary School interviews are with parents only. Middle and High School interviews include the applicant and parents.
4. Student Visits
Elementary School: After the initial parent meetings, students are invited to visit the Elementary School campus where we can observe them interact with peers, teachers, and their environment, as follows: students applying to Kindergarten and 1st grade are invited a “group play date”, second and third grade applicants spend a half-day at New Roads, participating in the regular daily routine; third, fourth and fifth grade applicants spend a full day similarly engaged in the normal routine for their grade level. All Elementary School visits take place after the initial parent meeting.
Middle and High School: After initial interviews, Middle and High School applicants are invited to visit the campus to which they have applied. They spend a half-day, paired with a current student, attending classes and getting a feel for every-day life at New Roads.
5. Admissions Decisions
Admissions determinations are made in March for all applicants. Grades PK-8-decisions will be mailed on March 23, 2012, Grades 9-12 decisions will be mailed on March 9, 2012.
